sexy back!! day 3


awesome awesome AWESOME!!! i feel pretty damn awesome today! and i did pretty good :)


i got to sleep in until 9 {not that late, i know.. but it's a godsend if you're a mother of 3!}, and i actually got my workout in pretty early. well... 10:30 is early for ME anyway, since my usual habit is to dick around in the kitchen, drinking coffee, and checking facebook for an hour or so. but today, i wanted to work out right away. i'm glad i did. in days past, i would work out mid- to late afternoon, have a little burst of energy after supper, and then be totally exhausted by 7, dragging ass all over the place. today has been non-stop energy!! 


today i did the insanity fit test. i feel pretty good about my numbers. here they are {my last fit test result is red, in brackets}:


SWITCH KICKS - 112 {73}
POWER JACKS - 37 {38}
POWER KNEES - 100 {90}
POWER JUMPS - 27 {25}
GLOBE JUMPS - 9 rotations {7}
              36 jumps total {28}
SUIDIDE JUMPS - 10 {16}**
PUSH UP JACKS - 15 {15}**
LOW PLANK OBLIQUE - 27 {30}**


**in the last fit test, i did these exercises on an incline on BF's advice. he didn't want me hurting an old injury, which i had done in the past. this time though, i felt strong enough to get right down on the floor for these ones. without the incline, these moves are far more challenging, so i couldn't do as many in the allotted time. but the numbers didn't go down TOO drastically {as i had thought they would}, and i'm happy with it.


overall, i think i did pretty good. some things WOW-ed me completely. like 112 switch kicks? AYFKM?? those are my most HATED of the whole work out, and have inspired COUNTLESS strings of grunted profanity at mr. shawn t. himself. so i guess i'm doing something right!! 


i think i did pretty good with the eating too. YES, by the fuck, i did go a little coffee crazy.. BUT I KNOW OF NO OTHER WAY TO SURVIVE!!! anywho... i made a big pot of barley and lentil soup this evening, AND some whole wheat flax/wheat germ cookie things. the soup is awesome fuel. i know this because the last time i made it, BF ate it ALL WEEK. he packed on muscle and got visibly leaner, IN A WEEK. unfortunately, it's not as easy for me to shred up like that {or mostly anyone else!! BF is a beast!! raawwrrr!!!!}; BUT i can still try!!


tomorrow is rest day. i'm looking forward to it. i'm going to take a nice long, hot bath; do some light stretching, and laze around for the first part of my day.

kitchen bitch gets her sexy back DAY 6

today i did insanity's cardio power and resistance. it was hard.. well none of insanity's workouts are easy, but this one is probably the hardest of month 1. my legs felt rubbery and weak by the half way point, but i managed to power through anyway. my weakest point is my upper body strength, but i am happy to report that i am able to do pushups now, without too much difficulty.


my intake for today:
10:00- protein & supps
11:30- scrambled eggs
12:30- coffee, 2 sugar
12:40- coffee, 2 sugar
1:30- coffee, 2 sugar
2:00- pre-workout supps
2:30- coffee, 2 sugar
4:00- post-workout supps
    - tuna, 1 tsp mayo, spinach, & crushed red
      peppers {without bread, just combined 
      and eaten.
4:30- coffee, 2 sugar
5:00- homemade flax roll w/margarine
    - coffee, 2 sugar
7:30- 1 slice pizza
    - 2 handfuls bbq potato chips
8:20- supps

kitchen bitch gets her sexy back DAY 2


whew. day 2 was a killer. 


today for my workout, i did this fat blasting circuit from oxygen magazine. it was nowhere near as intense as what i'm used to with insanity, and i didn't get any nausea. to be honest, i almost felt that it was too easy. at first. right now? omg, i can feel EVERY fucking muscle i worked, and i'm beginning to get stiff. looks like i have another date in the tub with stephen king. 


here is a breakdown of what i did:

  • run in place, 30 steps
  • body weight bulgarian squats, 15 reps each leg
  • jumping jacks, 20 reps
  • standing hammer curl, 15 reps each arm
  • step ups, 10 reps each leg
  • push ups, 15 reps {incline push ups for 2nd circuit}
  • run in place, 30 steps
  • side plank, 20s each side
  • jumping jacks, 20 reps
  • front raise, 15 reps {lateral raise for 2nd circuit}
  • step ups, 8 reps each leg
  • one-armed seated row, 15 reps each arm
  • run in place, 30 steps
  • walking lunge, 15 reps each leg
  • jumping jacks, 20 reps
  • bench dips, 15 reps
  • step ups, 8 reps each leg
after all of that, i rested for 2 minutes and did it again {with the changes noted for the 2nd circuit}. 

afterwards, i was sweaty but not out of breath and exhausted, like i'm used to with insanity. i had tons of energy and even considered asking BF if we could up the intensity. now, i know better. i'm glad he helped me create this program, because it's hard to do a completely exhausting super workout every goddamned day. this circuit doesn't exhaust me, but i can tell that i've worked. i like it.

tomorrow is rest & recovery day. i'm still going to do my food journal, but not much else. 

here is my intake for day 2:
8am- protein & supps
9am-coffee, 2 sugar
9:25- coffee, 2 sugar
      chocolate chip cookie
11:05- coffee, 2 sugar
11:45- scrambled eggs & sausages
       supps
12pm- coffee, 2 sugar
12:45- coffee, 2 sugar
2pm- slice of cheese
     1 cup pineapple juice
4:30- post-workout protein & supps
5pm- peant butter cookie
6:30- spaghetti and meatballs with cheese
      {approx. 1 cup}
      coffee, 2 sugar
7pm- coffee, 2 sugar
8pm- coffee, 2 sugar
8:30- coffee, 2 sugar
9:10- coffee, 2 sugar

ok, so i went a little coffee crazy today.. but it's still TONS less than usual, seeing as how writing down helps me to drink less. 

that's it for today. thank god tomorrow is r&r day, because i am fucking tired and sore.
